Performance Tests

_____1.  *Perform assigned ensemble music at a high level at December 3rd concert.

_____2.   Perform assigned band music at a high level at December 15th concert.

Technique Exercises

_____3.    *Play 12 Major Scales by memory, with proper technique and tone quality.

_____4.     Play PAS rudiments 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, with correct technique and stance, from memory.

_____5.     Play Major/Minor/Major/Dominant Arpeggio exercise in 12 keys.

Class Materials

_____6.   *Have a large stick bag, HQ/Heavy Hitter style drum pad, metronome, and appropriate sticks and mallets (all labeled visibly) –see high school percussion supply list.

_____7.   *Have a binder with rudiments, exercises, All Region music and other class materials as assigned and a pencil, with this page at the front, with your name on this page.

_____8.    Demonstrate understanding of concert percussion etiquette as outlined in handout.

 

_____9.    Extra Credit: Attend an approved performance

Objectives marked with * will count as 3 weeks progress report grade
